چکیده

Research subject . Trap sills of the Daldin-Alakit diamond-bearing region western Yakutia. Aim To establish reason for influence sedimentary rocks containing kimberlite diatremes on introduction basite magma that forms trap and possibility using morphology as a search signs kimberlites. Materials methods Sections near kimberlites, their structure, petrographic petrochemical composition dolerites performing were studied. Results During formation diatremes, accompanied by pulsating explosions shifting to top, significant compaction kimberlites occurs, associated with thermoelastic stress fields. This process leads zones which are difficult penetrate relatively viscous, protocrystalline-enriched magmas. When such magmas introduced, latter before form torus-shaped shafts sharply increasing power in intrusions. Sometimes magma, flowing around creates “trappless windows”, occasionally splitting into low-power “tongues”. Quite frequently, crumple, acquiring wave-like shape. Conclusion All listed morphological features traps arise during thus providing an indirect method searching particularly areal drilling territories covered continuous fields conducted ALROSA Western

Zooplankton Aggregations Near Sills

The primary goal during FY01/02 was to quantitatively assess zooplankton distributions and species in Knight Inlet, with special focus on the sill near Hoeya Head. This area has been the subject of considerable ONR-sponsored oceanographic research in the past focused on the stratified flow features induced by the sill (e.g. Farmer and Armi 1999; Klymak and Gregg 2001). Echo-sounder surveys perf...

Kimberlites Identification by Classification Methods

Kimberlites identification is a very important task for diamond mining. In traditional way, geologists draw upon past experience to do this work. Whether the bedrock should be drilled depends on their analysis of rock samples. This method has two disadvantages. First, as the database increasing, it becomes more difficult to do this work by manual inspection. Secondly, the accuracy is influenced...

Kimberlites and Lamproites: Primary Sources of Diamond

INTRODUCTION A variety of mantle-derived igneous rocks comprise the primary sources of diamond, with the principal hosts being kimberlite and lamproite. Primary diamonds or graphite pseudomorphs after diamond are also known to occur in some lamprophyres (Jaques, Kerr et al., 1989), alkali basalts and alpine type peridotites (Kaminskii, 1984). Significant quantities of diamond have not yet been ...
